GOOD NEWS….the well drilled on the site of our future orphanage is flowing and villagers from all around that area are so happy to have closer access to water. The smaller well that was drilled a few miles away has collapsed and is due to be re-drilled in April after all the rains have stopped. It is our understanding that the sandy soil mixed with the rains contributed to this. When it dries up and the well is re-drilled deeper, it should be good to supply the much needed water for that area.
Hopefully the opportunity to drill more wells will be available more often. Take a moment and envision what your life would be like if you had to walk to your neighbor’s house for all your water needs and could only take this water in containers you could carry. You might even try this for a day or two. Then, imagine living like that for the rest of your life.
